Sirens blared across Israel just before dawn on October 7 as a barrage of rockets infiltrated the country, leaving mass destruction. The rockets were fired by Hamas- a militant organization, currently in charge of the highly debated Gaza Strip. A day later, Israel declared war and launched a counter-offensive. Soon, hundreds in both Israel and Palestine were left dead, while thousands were left injured. The conflict, quite naturally, attracted comments from celebs across the world. Noted boxed Floyd Mayweather Jr. sent his private jet with aid for Israel.

On the heels of the pugilist’s decision, Dwayne Johnson has now weighed in on the conflict. The Rock stated his sentiment on Instagram, where he posted a message.

The Great One has condemned Hamas, whom he described as a “terrorist group”. Johnson said he was heartbroken by the plight of the Jewish people. “I’m heartbroken, angry, and sickened by the brutal murders and kidnapping of Jewish people through the horrific acts of the Hamas terrorist group,” the 51-year-old said. He also termed the conflict as “heart wrenching”.

Johnson, however, admitted that he has no expertise in the “complex conflict” and stated that he won’t “pretend to know everything” about what’s happening in the Middle East at the moment. But, he said what he’s sure of is that “hateful acts of terrorism like these are never justified”.

“I condemn and denounce terrorism, and in this devastating moment, my heart goes out to all the innocent victims and families grieving for their lost loved ones,” Johnson’s message shared with his 392 million followers on Instagram read. He also prayed for compassion and resolve for all innocent lives.
