The Rock channels his passion in every way. The former WWE champion isn’t just a jack of every trade but also a master of them all. But it seems like a few endeavors he had to drop off in between because of some inconvenience or contradiction of personal ethics. Those hard decisions sometimes left him in a dire state, but DJ never compromised. Eventually, those bizarre steps brought forth the biggest blessings in his life.

There are thousands of ways you can come across the name Dwayne The Rock Johnson. Maybe you are a wrestling enthusiast or a movie addict or a business aspirant. In each case, you catch him as an utmost source of inspiration. But apart from these, for a very brief period, The Rock tried his hands at professional football. He played for the CFL’s (Canadian Football League) Calgary Stampeders. However, he couldn’t rise to success in it, but this failure paved his way toward greater success through his iconic run in WWE.

The $800 million wrestler-turned-actor Rock’s love, and inclination toward football, is an open secret to all. The Rock wanted to pursue the sport long before he became the poster boy of the biggest wrestling promotion in the world. But football gave him nothing professionally. We would possibly get to see him in the field with a ball in his feet instead of the squared circle if he didn’t receive a massive blow in his budding football pursuit.

The Rock left no stone unturned in making his CFL career a success. But destiny had something else for him. He was kicked out of the team shortly and sent home with $7 bucks.

Until this, it’s a story everybody might hear of. What might be unknown to many is he got another call from the league to rejoin but guess what, The Rock straightway rejected it. Instead he committed himself to a completely different path, the path of success, glory, and honor, the path that immortalized him through the pages of history.

Appearing in the Pivot podcast, the superstar explained the blessings in disguise of his life. The 51-year-old noted, ”I get a call from Wally Buono who at the time was the head coach of the Calgary Stampeders who has since gone on to become commissioner of the CFL and GM. He’s an OG up there. He called to say hey even though we cut you, would like to bring you back for next season.”

”I was like, yeah thank you, coach, I appreciate it. I got to be honest with you. I am gonna close this chapter in my life. I can’t thank you enough for everything. You’ve been a wonderful mentor. I wish you the best of luck.” DJ continued detailing his reply.

His decision to deny the offer offended his dad. Especially when he expressed his wish to join the wrestling business. But that recorded the very start of history for him and for us.

However, DJ continued his football passion by supervising his own XFL league.

The Rock didn’t let his inner footballer self die and revived the XFL

The Rock revived the lost footballer in him while risking his $15 million to buy a declining football league, XFL along with an entire group of investors. Ever since he took up the league in his hand, The Rock carried out a guardian angel’s duty to it. His endless love for the sport exceeded his mere business motive, and he became more in tune with the players’ emotions.
