Buddy Murphy is a talented Superstar and has shown good skills as a performer during segments and promos. Recently, Murphy was asked about his dream match in AEW, and the Superstar chose AEW’s Kenny Omega.

Omega responded to this, calling Murphy a talented athlete, and he would enjoy facing Buddy Murphy inside the ring.

However, it’s unlikely this will move forward anytime soon since Murphy is working with WWE and Omega is working with AEW. There’s a slim to no chance of the rival companies coming together to book a match between two pro-wrestlers.

In the off chance it does happen, Buddy Murphy vs. Kenny Omega won’t be the most desirable choice. A host of other dream matches are already in the pipeline.

What are Buddy Murphy and Kenny Omega currently doing?

Buddy Murphy might be talented, but WWE hasn’t been using him much lately. The last time WWE properly used him, he was involved in a storyline with Seth Rollins and The Mysterio family.

It started with Murphy by Rollins’ side as he tried to take down Rey and Dominik Mysterio. However, it ended with Buddy Murphy and Aliyah Mysterio being involved in a romantic relationship, and Murphy betraying Rollins.

Since then, the company has not actively used Murphy.

On the other hand, Kenny Omega has been rising at AEW. He defeated Jon Moxley and started his upward climb as a champion.

Will AEW and WWE come together?

Circling back to the situation at hand, will WWE and AEW merge for matches or segments?

One of the recent times it happened was when Chris Jericho appeared for Stone Cold Steve Austin’s podcast – Broken Skull Sessions.

However, this one was pre-approved by Vince McMahon. Moreover, Jericho was a huge part of WWE before he moved to AEW. Therefore, Jericho appearing on a podcast wouldn’t have been an enormous problem.

Now, the fans have one particular match in mind for which WWE and AEW can come together, given the magnitude of the match – The Undertaker vs. Sting.

With Sting working for AEW, and The Undertaker extremely loyal to WWE, it’s doubtful ‘The Phenom’ will want to make an AEW appearance if Vince McMahon is not on board.

Unfortunately, this is still a far-fetched dream considering Taker has retired, and none of the companies want to risk a match between the pro-wrestlers because of their age.

If this match does happen, it will be enormous!
