Sting is one of the most iconic pro wrestlers of all time. With his face paint and dark persona, he became one of the faces of the Monday Night Wars between WCW and WWE. Having spent most of his career with WCW before their demise, he has also wrestled for a few other promotions. Currently, he is signed with All Elite Wrestling (AEW) and has frequently wrestled for them. Recently, in an episode of AEW: Rampage, Sting was involved in a spot that drew mixed reactions from the fans.

Steve Borden, aka Sting, signed for AEW in 2020. Since then, he has aligned with Darby Allin and feuded with other wrestlers on the roster.
Recently the two squared off against Brody King and Buddy Matthews of House Of Black in a no disqualification tag team match. King pushed Sting off the top rope during the match and sent the 63-year-old through a table.
Fans have mixed reactions to the Sting table spot
AEW hosted a special Rampage episode titled Rampage: Grand Slam this past week. The match card was stacked and one of the main attractions of the night was the tag team match involving Sting.
The match with House of the Black members was a violent affair with even The Great Muta making an appearance.

This was indeed a rough landing for the wrestling legend and the fans had their say over this on Twitter. Many fans thought Sting didn’t need to take this bump and it could prove to be dangerous.
God bless sting he didn’t have to do this and he’s doing it for all of us

This is stupid. They shouldn't be booking this crap

He'll soon have to pay really expensive medical bills if he carries on!

However, some were full of praise for the veteran.

Others blamed AEW owner Tony Khan for putting Sting in such a spot.
If TK respects The Sports and legacy of Sting give him A bulk of cash let him retire before he causes serious harm to himself!!
— Javy Q The_Main_Men (@DemonLordJQ) September 24, 2022
TK. Stop. Make him a position. You can’t send him out to the mat. Doing spots like this. He’s going break something. Don’t have that on your head. 😳☹️👎 pic.twitter.com/uy6HTrB0Mt

A few fans were bugged for different reasons.
I still don’t understand with all the ridiculous things he’s done in aew, a buckle bomb is what hurt him the most.

Sting is out here doing 450s through bundles of light tubes while wrapped in barbed wire and we couldn't get WWE to clear him just to get the 1 Sting v. Taker match.
It still bugs me.

Indeed, the fans still think highly of the ‘Stinger’ and wish to see more of him, but they would want him to be more careful with such spots. Of course, Sting is a seasoned veteran and knows what he is doing, but at his age, such stunts are high risk. Despite this scary bump, Sting and Darby Allin managed to score a win over The House of Black.
This is not the first time Sting has done a crazy spot in AEW involving tables. Earlier this year at AEW Revolution, Sting dove off a mezzanine onto Andrade El Idolo through three tables!
