If there was one man that revolutionized promos in WWE, it would be Chris Jericho. “The Ayatollah of Rock and Rolla” played an iconic role in the Attitude Era and was one of the most notorious names on the list.

Y2J has even the impressive achievement of beating The Rock and “Stone Cold” Steve Austin on the same night! Being in the company for nearly 20 years, Jericho has learned a lot from the business. He has a deep respect for the CEO and Chairman of the company Vince McMahon.

Answering one of the questions on his Saturday Night Special Q&As, Jericho spoke about whether or not he missed working with Vince McMahon in WWE.

“Honestly, my interactions with Vince. I really, really enjoyed working for Vince McMahon because he challenged me, he challenged me as a professional,” says Jericho. “He challenged me on my ideas. It wasn’t easy and at the end of the day is Vince’s ice cream shop, as Pat [Patterson] would say, and you’re living in it.”

Vince McMahon gave Jericho dozens of roles throughout his WWE career, and Jericho nailed all of them. Heel Jericho was one of the best things you could ever witness back in the day.

Chris Jericho admits to having disagreements with Vince McMahon

“I never had a problem with Vince. I mean, obviously, you have problems with your boss when he’s twenty-five years older and, you know, whatever it is I was always a little bit intimidated by Vince, but he always challenged me,” explains Jericho.

“I got to a certain point after the Shawn Michaels feud in 2008-2009, he trusted my judgment. Nine times out of ten, he would go with what I wanted to do. One time out of ten, he wouldn’t [and] that would piss me off! Like, ‘Give me the courtesy, at least trying this.’”

Vince McMahon too shared a special relationship with the “Demo God”. When Y2J informed McMahon that he had signed the AEW contract, he immediately got a call from McMahon asking him to back out.

Jericho is now doing a spectacular job in AEW, WWE’s rival promotion. However, the two still share a healthy relationship and mutual respect for one another. Vince McMahon is one of the few people to make it onto Jericho’s list (as one of the good guys).
