Dwayne Johnson has returned to the Fast and Furious franchise nearly six years after parting ways following some major disagreements with his fellow co-star Vin Diesel. While it’s still not clear how he will be portrayed in the role, his return is of no doubt. This has left the fans excited and surprised as The Rock had previously claimed he won’t be returning to the franchise.

The drama between the on-screen Hobbs and Dom dated back to 2016. During the last week of the shooting of The Fate and Furious, Johnson slammed his male co-stars who failed to behave like true professionals according to him through his Instagram post. Though it was an anonymous attack, many believed it was about Diesel. Later, it has been noticed by the fans later that Johnson and Diesel didn’t appear on the screen at the same time, as an aftermath of their feud on the set. Next year, DJ himself confirmed to have some fundamental differences with the $225 million actor.

The new powerhouse of the franchise, John Cena, made his debut in the Fast saga in its 9th installment. Cena garnered massive love as Jakob Toretto last year. Now, The Champ is all set to reprise his role in the next installment, Fast X. It will be in theatres on May 19. This could see Cena share the big screen with his former WWE rival The Rock as well as Vin Diesel, both of whom don’t see eye to eye.

Ahead of the big release day, Cena sat with MTV News’s Josh Horowitz to answer a bunch of questions related to the movie. In one part of the interview, the host asked him if he will be the peacemaker between The Rock and Diesel, addressing the duo’s notorious feud.

Cena paused a little before coming up with this usual saucy reply. The Peacemaker star noted, “I just want to get this right. ‘Cause what I’m hearing is two gentlemen who are incredibly well known throughout the world possibly in a universe might wanna share the screen together one day and you’re asking if I could be the peacemaker. Yeah, I think I can swing that.”

While it’s unknown if we will be able to see Diesel and Johnson in the same frame in the next installment of the franchise, Diesel perhaps won’t mind that.

Vin Diesel openly approached Johnson to return to the franchise

Diesel has asked The Rock to rejoin the franchise for the final installment. He made an Instagram post approaching Johnson publicly for a return long after the two Hollywood heavyweights got into a heated debate. Addressing him as his little brother, Diesel requested DJ to fulfill his destiny. He admitted there can be no replacement for Johnson as Luke Hobbs.

However, the Black Adam star not only rejected Diesel’s request multiple times but also accused him of manipulation.

In light of the present situation, it’s not entirely absurd for fans to hope the duo share the screen together again given that Johnson already broke his previous stance. Now we need to see what happens when Fast X hits the box office over the weekend.
