Hulk Hogan had his run-ins with various wrestlers during his run at the top of WWE. Many admired his drawing power, while some labeled him as a poor worker. Others also accused him of backstage politics and always trying to keep his spot. With the creative power Hogan enjoyed, he always got himself in the spotlight one way or another.
The Royal Rumble pay-per-view in 1992, was one such example. This was an event meant to highlight the old generation of WWE giving way to the new gen. The Royal Rumble match saw an iconic performance from Ric Flair, who won the match after entering at number two.

Sid wanted to leave after Hulk Hogan’s behavior
Sid made his WWE debut in 1991 as Sid Justice. He was immediately placed as one of the hottest faces in the company. But he would depart fairly soon.
He was a guest on Prime Time with Sean Mooney and talked about his run-in with Hogan during his first WWE run. Sid stated how his initial run with the company failed because of the behavior of some senior pros.
Sid explained, “From the very beginning things didn’t go right. We were in Albany for the [1992] Royal Rumble, Hogan pulled me out from the outside and the fans started booing him.”
He further stated how seeing Hogan’s behavior afterwards convinced him to leave the promotion.
The former WWE Champion revealed,“We get back to the dressing room and Hogan is screaming and acting like a woman! And he’s screaming at Vince [McMahon], ‘He set this up! He made this happen’ […] I went to Vince’s office, stuck my hand out and said, ‘I wanna thank you for the opportunity, but I’m gone. I cannot work in a place where grown men act like women.”

Sid further added, “He [Vince] said well, will you stay until WrestleMania?’ and I said ‘okay,’ and that’s what I did and finished up a couple days after WrestleMania.”
Hogan would eventually face Sid at WrestleMania VIII, with ‘The Hulkster’ winning after a disqualification.
