For a long time, WWE superstars and other professional wrestlers have had some sort of connections in the mainstream Hollywood world. There are rumors of several wrestling stars dating actors or are good friends with them. However, WWE Hall of Famer Rey Mysterio recently made a huge confession which included top Hollywood actress Jennifer Aniston.

Back in the late 90s, there was a rumor that the then-WCW wrestler Mysterio might be dating Aniston. The news was posted by the National Enquirer and published in the magazine New Idea as per a report in Metro UK.

Recently, the masked Luchador appeared on Logan Paul’s Impaulsive podcast. The Maverick dug deep into an article that stated Mysterio dated the actress behind the FRIENDS sitcom character ‘Rachel’.

The ‘Master of 619’ started laughing over it and said, “About a week….that was crazy. National Enquirer, remember that…they just threw it out there.”

Aniston requires no introduction as the FRIENDS sitcom gave her worldwide fame. The sitcom was a huge hit back in the 90s, coinciding with WCW’s rise in popularity. This might have made this news of the two stars dating more popular. Safe to the Friends sitcom has a minuscule WWE connection whatsoever, which isn’t well known.

The WWE legend had said to the National Enquirer, “Jennifer is a big fan of mine and I’m a big fan of hers. She’s been to four of my matches and we’ve become good friends. She told me she loves my wrestling.”

It seems the FRIENDS actresses was a fan of Mysterio and became friends with him. While there were rumors of Mysterio and Aniston,  Courtney Cox, another FRIENDS star, appeared on an episode of WCW with her ex-husband David Arquette. Furthermore, last year Brock Lesnar also shared being a fan of the ‘Monica Geller’ character played by Cox from FRIENDS.

Nevertheless, the 54-year-old actress denied all the rumors in 1997 as per the article in Metro UK. But it seems Mysterio had fun over these rumors back then and still does.

Mysterio broke a tradition for Jennifer Aniston

The mask is a tradition of Lucha Libre wrestling and Mysterio honors it with his life. However, he claimed in the National Enquirer interview covered by Metro UK, that he took off the mask when he met Jennifer Aniston.

He said, “I actually let her see me without my mask backstage. I’ve never done that for any of my fans. She really got a kick out of it. We talked for some time and exchanged home phone numbers.”
