“A Wiseman Told Me…”: Dwayne Johnson’s Daughter Ava Raine Opens Up About Her Backstage Conversation With Paul Heyman on NXT

Paul Heyman met with Dwayne Johnson‘s daughter Ava Raine backstage on the October 10, 2023, edition of NXT and interacted with her on the show. Nobody knew what the two stars talked about that night until now. Raine recently revealed the contents of her conversation with ‘The Wiseman’ to the WWE Universe.

Fans were guessing that maybe Heyman was planning to recruit Ava into The Bloodline. But that’s not what they talked about. She disclosed the intriguing details of their conversation on the last NXT PLE.

Paul Heyman advised Ava Raine to become Shawn Michael’s assistant

Ava disclosed the details of her backstage chit-chat with Heyman on NXT: New Year’s Evil. She stated Heyman had advised her to step up and provide a helping hand to Shawn Michaels, who is running NXT.

She said, “It was brought to my attention a couple months ago when a Wiseman told me that as the brand continues to grow, Shawn Michaels, he may need some help and that’s where I come in. I have a unique relationship with the NXT roster. I have some of my own ideas, sometimes they work, sometimes they don’t.”

Ever since then, she has taken a new role as an authority figure for NXT and become HBK’s assistant.

Ava Raine announces the return of the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic

After her segment with Heyman in October, Raine has shifted to the role of on-screen assistant for Shawn Michaels. She is the intermediary between talents and Senior Vice President of Talent Development Creative. Plus, she also makes announcements on Michaels’ behalf, which is what she did this week on NXT.

During a backstage segment, she told the fans that the NXT Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic will be returning next week on the developmental brand. Heyman recognized her true potential and did the right thing by advising her last year.

Good for Ava that she took his advice and has now perfectly settled into her role. Before her assistant role, she was a member of a villainous faction, Schism, where she spent many months wreaking havoc on the NXT roster alongside her stablemates.
