Brock Lesnar joined WWE via an alternate path. The Beast Incarnate was a part of WWE’s developmental territory, OVW. The ‘Ohio Valley Wrestling’ was where Lesnar was trained. Several seniors of the pro wrestling promotion used to attend these ‘dark room shows’ where talents undergoing training used to perform.

During his training period, Stone Cold” Steve Austin once attended one of the OVW shows. When ‘The Beast’ was asked about how it made him feel, his response was special in its own way.

The wrestler had joined OVW back in 2000. In January 2001, Lesnar had a tag team match in one of the OVW shows. After Dave Meltzer got hold of Lesnar for an interview, he asked him about the match.

What was your feelings before that show,” asked the journalist while especially inclining his angle towards the presence of the big WWE celebrities. He also mentioned Steve Austin and Jim Ross as a reference to his question.

Brock Lesnar shared during the interview, “I was really excited for that show. According to a WWE personality, the match couldn’t take place because Lesnar had made Austin angry. Seeing a newcomer compete with him is probably what made the WWE legend turn down the match. However, the WWE Hall of Famer himself revealed that the reason behind the same was the lack of story build-up.
