Bieber has never claimed in public about the opportunity to work with WWE. Although secretly, he is a huge fan of the sport.
How and when did Justin Bieber get a chance to wrestle in WWE?
Some time ago when The Big Show, now Paul Wight in AEW, left WWE, he appeared on the Talk is Jericho Podcast. He talked about why he signed with AEW and shared some of his memories of WWE.
While talking about those memories, Wight shared how WWE had once planned a segment and a match that involved popular singer, Justin Bieber. They were supposed to have a match at SummerSlam against The Wyatt Family.
Wight said, “Years ago I don’t think I’ve ever told anyone this on air, but years ago I had worked out for one of the SummerSlams in L.A. I had worked out with a very good friend who was working with Scooter Braun and Justin Bieber.”
He added, “It was going to be John Cena, the Big Show, and Justin Bieber vs The Wyatts at SummerSlam. Bieber was on board, he was excited, he was on board, he wanted to work out with John and I. This was a really, really big deal.”

Surprisingly we didn’t see this match, nor has WWE ever hinted about it ever. This match would have caught major attention as they planned Bieber in the in-ring action. Also, with John Cena and The Big Show on his side, this would have been the highlight of the night.
Why the match was called off?
Paul Wight revealed about a possible six-man tag team match was planned in WWE with Justin Bieber competing. Furthermore, in the same podcast, he also gave the reason the company canceled these plans.
Wight said, “One of the people making the decisions said, ‘I don’t see how Justin Bieber is going to relate to our audience.’ It’s like, does anyone not see the amount of eyes that Justin Bieber would bring to that match? I think WWE offered to help promote his album, too.”

He added, “You’re dealing with Scooter Braun. Scooter Braun is all about cash. WWE jacked him around for about two weeks and in the end, he said, ‘Listen it’s not going to happen—I’ve got the kid $1 million to watch a soccer game and they’re flying him down on a private jet.”
WWE brings in celebrities in order to increase the viewership of their product. Bieber had surely brought in huge new viewers, as he has a massive following worldwide called ‘Believers’. It even surprised Wight after listening to the reason they scrapped the plans.
