Monday Night RAW’s main event saw an enthusiastic Sami Zayn up against Seth Rollins for the WWE World Heavy Weight Championship. After the match ended with a pin-fall for Rollins to retain his title, Sami Zayn was attacked by The Judgment Day members. Soon, Rollins joined in to save Sami but the numbers caught up to him. ‘Main Event’ Jey Uso joined the baby faces to fight off the heel faction, but it was not enough. Hence, Cody Rhodes joined into even the game. An all-out brawl erupted at Capital One Arena, Washington DC.

In the end, General Manager Adam Pearce had to announce a WarGames match at Survivor Series to settle the issue between the two groups. Right now it is announced as a 4v4 contest, but the WarGames match usually has five members on each side But who will be their 5th member for the War Games?

WarGames is a popular wrestling match concept that gained popularity in WWE from NXT, although its origins go back to NWA-WCW. It has replaced the traditional 5-on-5 match that was the highlight of the Survivor Series for WWE. Last year, we saw The Bloodline take on the babyfaces group consisting of The Brawling Brutes with Kevin Owens and Drew McIntyre.

So, what surprise do we have this time around? We speculate two major changes for this year’s WarGames match.

Drew McIntyre’s heel turn: For a long WWE has teased a heel turn for the Scottish Warrior who has come agonizingly close to winning a world title. A talent of his caliber not winning any major single title is frustrating for WWE fans, let alone for McIntyre himself.

It wouldn’t be surprising to see a heel turn from McIntyre after his loss against Seth Rollins. The Judgment Day has been trying to recruit McIntyre to their ranks in some capacity and this could finally lead to a heel turn.

Rhea Ripley’s backstage moments with McIntyre also suggest that Mami is interested in McIntyre. An allegiance with The Judgment Day might help McIntyre to reach the top spot again.

Major WWE return as baby face will side with Cody Rhodes

Randy Orton’s return: The Viper has been out of action for over 18 months due to a back injury. He was last seen in May 2022 and is currently undergoing training for a return. Orton had his surgery last year in November. Hence we can expect him to be back by now considering Orton was seen around the Performance Center a few months back.

But if he returns at Survivor Series for War Games, which side will he pick? Probably at the last leg of his career, Orton is enjoying his time as a face. He might continue his face run and fight alongside Team Cody Rhodes.
