Terry Eugene Bollea began his pro wrestling career in 1977. After performing for several companies, he joined the WWE (then WWF) in 1983. Bollea would later go on to become the Hulk Hogan– one of the most recognized professional wrestlers in the world. While the recognition had its upside, it wasn’t the case always, as revealed by one of his family members.

Back in 2021, Brooke Hogan, Hulk Hogan’s daughter, told Hollywood Raw that contrary to people’s notion about her status as a star kid, it was a “pain in the b**t”.

Sharing her experience, the singer said people often misunderstand the equation between fame and wealth.

“I can’t help that my parents picked that,” Brooke told Dax Holt and Adam Glyn when she was asked what it was like to grow up with famous parents.

“All I remember that it was a pain in the b**t to upkeep and I would never, you know, do that in my life,” she added.

The Hulkster’s daughter, however, shared that her father was a devout family man who did a “really good job” of raising them.

Brooke also complimented her father for being a “whiz” in mathematics and history and helping her out with those subjects. She revealed that the only time the family would feel the craziness around Hulk Hogan was at the WrestleMania.

Hulk Hogan’s daughter once wrote a poem in his defense

The 6x WWE champion has had his share of ups and downs in his professional career. In 2015, he was fired by the WWE for using racist language about Brooke’s black boyfriend. While the incident was made public in 2015, Hogan’s rant was from 2007.

An under-fire father received support from his daughter as she wrote a poem to defend him. Titled “If You Knew My Father”, the poem spoke about The Hulkster’s “tender heart” and how he never wanted to “hurt his fans”.

Apart from this, Brooke also told Entertainment Tonight that it was easy to target her dad.

“He’s so nice to everybody,” Hogan’s daughter had told ET in 2015. She said it wasn’t the way her father would speak normally, which is why she found the outburst “strange”.

Several years have passed since the infamous racism. Both the WWE and Hogan seemed to have put it behind them. In 2018, the promotion reinstated him in the Hall of Fame, signaling a truce.
