There is no promotion that has made more superstars than WWE in the wrestling world. Their star rate is so high that it makes sense why people call Vince McMahon one of the best promoters in this industry. His excellence kept the company floating above the ground and even made record-breaking profits in its last few years. But WWE was at its peak in its Attitude Era, including the current Head of Creative Triple H.

One thing that made the Attitude Era the most sought-after in wrestling history was its unrestrictedness when it came to various contents. There were many things that happened that could never happen in the WWE of today. But the prime members among these were the men at the top of WWE right now, Triple H and Shawn Michaels. The two who formed the DX and ruled the company on their peak days.

Triple H opens about the time when Vince McMahon was close to ending DX

While talking about his days in the DX, Triple H said, “USA [Network] had been on us for weeks. ‘These guys cannot say that stuff, they cannot do those gestures, they have to stop it.’ We would go out and do it the next week, and Vince would tear us apart. ‘You guys are gonna get us thrown off the air!’ … We felt like there was a lot of threatening going on, but he wasn’t doing anything.

He continued, “Vince brought us the letter, and he’s like ‘Well, here it is. … And if these demands aren’t followed to a tee, you will no longer be on the air on USA Network.’ And we said ‘Let us take the letter and use it on TV.’ The next day we got a letter from USA that said ‘Congratulations on the rating last night. What DX did with our letter was hilarious. Congratulations on the success here’s to many more years.’

But now we hope these two mega-stars find someone worthy enough to fill their shoes. And seeing the product right now feels like there could be many who can take their place. Shawn Michaels was recently promoted as Senior Vice President of Talent Development and still is in charge of NXT as well. There is no doubt that Triple H and Michaels will be working toward developing the company into new heights.
