If there was one moment that could define the golden era of wrestling in the ’80s, it was the iconic WrestleMania 3 slam that was heard around the world. Who else could it be, but the man facing Hogan and his best friend, Andre the Giant? The first proper heel giant made people shake in their boots and make them cheer the babyfaces even more. Hogan was only as good a hero as Andre was a villain. Their ring chemistry to their body comparisons made this bout a special one indeed.
Hulk Hogan once revealed how he performed his most important move in WWE history
On an episode of OBJECTified, Hulk Hogan revealed how he planted Andre the Giant in the center of the ring at WrestleMania 3. He said, “With a lot of help from him (Andre the Giant). It was a situation if you watched the tape when I went underneath Andre. His arm came around my neck and he pushed up on my thigh. It was okay when I got him to here (points above his belt), then when I got him to here I had to turn him. That’s how I tore my biceps. That moment changed my whole career.”
While the match is not the 5-star Dave Meltzer classic, it was like an action movie. The hero faces insurmountable offense from the villain and is continually taken down, but gets back up again. In the end, he pulls out the most impossible move and strikes down the Giant and winning the match. This move, the body slam, would become synonymous with Hogan to this day.

But seeing Hogan act out of character in a match might rub some people the wrong way.
