CM Punk has been the face of wrestling gossip following his recent scuffle with Jack Perry at All In that led up to his permanent AEW expulsion. It was, however, not new for The Second City Saint to get himself embroiled in controversy. Last year, his infamous ‘brawl out’ with The Elite garnered a lot of discussion and criticism from across the AEW world as well.
His contentious WWE stint was also not free from the pinch of disputes. A former WWE peer recently recalled a savage act by The Straight Edge Warrior and gave cheeky advice to drink and unwind to cope with it.

The wrestling world revolves around uncertainties. Anything and everything is possible here with no prior warning. Just one thing remains constant no matter what, and that is Punk’s round-the-clock ability to get people talking about any of his bizarre claims or deeds.
Punk infamously got into a scuffle with Jungle Boy Jack Perry at the All In stage, following the latter’s tease regarding the use of real glass in a match. The tussle took a very serious turn, frightening most of the attendees there, including Khan.
While Tony Khan’s decision to cut him out of the promotion with this dramatic fear claim triggered condemnation from many WWE veterans, one WWE insider, Freddie Prinze Jr., passively added to the claim by bringing out one old repugnant antic by Punk into the light.
During his conversation with podcast partner Jeff Dye on a recent episode of the Wrestling with Freddie podcast, the former WWE producer agreed that Punk needs some serious attitude adjustment and could use a bottle of whiskey to loosen up.

When Jeff initiated the discussion about Punk’s not-so-acceptable behavior, Freddie seconded him, reflecting on a past controversial storyline. The 48-year-old noted, ”Jesus Christ! Just have a drink. He just needs a drink. When he had that number with JBL, back in the day that was the angle, he had a bottle of Jack Daniels and he’s like ‘Hey, how about a drink’ and then the pitch was, I don’t know if they did it. It was Punk, instead of taking the drink, grabs the bottle and breaks it over JBL’s head cause he would never drink. But he should have had a little whiskey, just once.”
Poking fun at Punk being one of the few straight-edge wrestlers in the business, Prinze Jr. believes that the disgraced wrestler could use a drink. Especially due to his purported hot-headedness.
Meanwhile, while the former WWE producer speculates on what could’ve changed Punk’s career path, others are worried about his future. Some believe that Punk could go for a second WWE run.
Will a WWE return seem to be the next for CM Punk?
Nine years ago, Punk broke ties with the Stamford-based company, unsatisfied with his booking and also for the massive injury risks involved. His boiling equation with Vince McMahon added to these causes. After being away from the ring for some years, the wrestler found his feet back in the business with a new AEW contract.
But unfortunately, that couldn’t bear fruit either, thanks to its premature end last week. Now, it begs the question: What’s next for the Best in The World? Will he come back to WWE?

Well, while no official word is there regarding this, the rumor mill is running in that direction, considering Triple H is now in charge instead of McMahon.
With WWE also facing a merger with UFC, and Punk’s (albeit poor) stint at the MMA promotion, this could also be an opening for Punk. Only time will tell the rest.
