Dwayne Johnson is one of the biggest celebrities right now. He has enjoyed success in Hollywood for a long time. But prior to his entry in Hollywood, he had already established himself as a superstar.

Several individuals have witnessed The Rock’s growth since his early days in WWE. And WWE legend Ric Flair is one of them.

During an episode of the Ric Flair Wooooo Nation Uncensored Podcast, Flair and Mark Madden talked about The Rock’s early days. Flair also recalled meeting Johnson when the Hollywood star was just 12 years old.

Ric Flair said, “I actually met him when he was like 12 years old. I could tell you he liked the bling and all. He was just a little bit conflicted on which way to go. But he found his groove and when he did, got unbelievable.”

Did fans turn on Dwayne Johnson following his in-ring WWE debut at Survivor Series 1996?

Dwayne Johnson had a dream WWE in-ring debut. But The Rock’s early baby face run in 1996 did not impress the fans much.However, he got some hostile reactions from the crowd after making his in-ring debut at WWE Survivor Series 1996. He initially got introduced as a huge baby face.

In his first WWE match, he took part in an eight-man elimination tag match. He got the win for his side by becoming the sole survivor. Though Johnson did great in the ring, his baby face run did not go as planned.

The fans had hostile reactions. It is indeed true that the fans turned on ‘The Most Electrifying Man in Sports Entertainment‘ in his early days. After his knee injury in 1997, he turned heel.

Later, he once again turned the baby face. And this time, he had the support of the fans. And soon, he had enormous popularity, and The Rock turned out to be one of WWE’s most popular stars.

Is The Rock coming back to WWE?

Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson has been absent from WWE television for a long time now. Recently, there have been rumors of The Rock returning to WWE for a match against Roman Reigns at next year’s WrestleMania.

But nothing is official still. However, if Johnson is not busy filming during WrestleMania 39, then the fans might get to see him return to action in WWE, given The Rock’s passion and love for WWE, the WWE fans and pro wrestling.
