Ronda Rousey is all set to defend her Women’s title at Survivor Series later this month. The Rowdy one missed out on WWE Crown Jewel but will be back defending her title later this month. On a recent episode of SmackDown WWE crowned a new number-one contender for Rousey’s title after a Six-Pack Challenge match. The match saw former SmackDown Women’s Champion Liv Morgan, Raquel Rodriguez, Shotzi, Lacey Evans, Sonya Deville, and Xia Li compete to earn a title shot.

In a result that surprised many, Shotzi came out on top after pinning Lacey Evans. Very few people expected The Ballsy Badass to win, considering more established names in the match. But the former NXT superstar will now face Ronda Rousey for the title at Survivor Series.

A lot of fans didn’t agree with WWE’s choice and took to Twitter to express their anger over the booking.

Fans didn’t want Shotzi to face Ronda Rousey

Ronda Rousey has been taking on different opponents during her recent run in WWE. She got heavily invested in a program with Liv Morgan and the two had an exciting feud for the SmackDown Women’s title. After coming unstuck against Morgan twice, Rousey won the championship at Extreme Rules last month.

A couple of weeks ago, she also faced a returning Emma in an open challenge for her title. Now she will defend her SmackDown Women’s title against Shotzi at Survivor Series on 27 November. Shotzi earned the opportunity after her surprise win on SmackDown this week.

Many fans believe this was a left-field choice and vented their anger online. According to the fans, this wasn’t the right booking decision.

 

Fans were not too keen on seeing the match go down at the Survivor Series.

Ronda Rousey has talked about how she wants to work with younger and different talent in WWE during this run and this could be the reason for WWE to go ahead with Shotzi as her next opponent. However, a lot of fans aren’t on board with the idea, thinking it could be another predictable outcome, with Rousey retaining.
