“A Big Softie”: Former US President Had Some Hilarious One Liners for Dwayne Johnson Back in the Day

Dwayne Johnson is a bigger personality in the world today. Starting his career in WWE as The Rock, Johnson has risen to popularity and major success. Since 2002, he has been doing popular movies and is the highest-paid Hollywood actor.

Johnson claims his appearance on Saturday Night Live in 2000 is the reason he started getting offers for movies. He has been a part of the show many times after that. In the year 2009, he played former US president Barack Obama on SNL, which was praised by many people and Obama himself.

In December 2014, Dwayne Johnson was the host at the National Building Museum for “Christmas in Washington”. There then-President Obama appreciated The Rock for his performance as Barack Obama and also said about him and Johnson having a resemblance.

Obama said, “Give it up Santa’s biggest baddest elf, our host –The Rock. Dwayne is tough as nails on the outside, but as you heard earlier he is a big softie on the inside. Even played me on ‘Saturday Night Live’. You can see the resemblance. I have a little more hair.”

Dwayne Johnson was laughing at the side when Obama was praising the former WWE wrestler. It surprised Johnson to hear about his SNL performance after five years that to from Barack Obama at an official Christmas Event.

Johnson hosted the holiday show in which he portrayed Obama in a 2009 ‘Saturday Night Live’ sketch. They dubbed the former WWE star “The Rock Obama” in the comedy bit.

Does Dwayne Johnson want to become the US President?

In 2021, when the first season of Young Rock was released, Dwayne Johnson was seen as a candidate running for US President. The Rock fans thought after a successful wrestling and acting career, Johnson was planning to become the president of the country.

There were many rumors, and questions arose about him standing for the presidential elections. However, he later neglected these rumors and called it just the plot for his show, Young Rock. He does not want to pursue a political career now.

In an interview, Johnson said, “At the end of the day, I don’t know the first thing about politics. I care deeply about our country. I care about every f****** American who bleeds red and that’s all of them. There’s delusion here—I may have some leadership qualities, but that doesn’t necessarily make me a great presidential candidate. That’s where I am today.” (H/T Newsweek)

Johnson was grateful for the support of the fans. Nonetheless, he thinks he is not ready for this role in his current schedule.
