Dwayne Johnson is perhaps the biggest name in Hollywood today. Owing to his time in the WWE, ‘The Rock’ enjoys a rabid fanbase across the globe. DJ is also one of the richest actors with studios willing to fork out large sums to cast him in their movies. This is largely in part to his fantastic box office record.

Not only this, he has regularly been featured on various ‘rich lists’ over the years. This further asserts his status as one of the richest celebrities in the world. However, a newly compiled Instagram rich list shockingly leaves out ‘The Great One’. Moreover, the list does feature his friend and co actor, Kevin Hart.

Kevin Hart gets the better of Dwayne Johnson in the new Instagram rich list

Dwayne Johnson has regularly featured as one of the richest celebrities on Instagram. The social media platform offers celebrities a chance to make more money by posting ads and promoting their brand. Although, the UK-based Hopper HQ, included the former WWE Champion on their recent Instagram rich list, he misses out on another such list.

While Hopper HQ analyzes who makes the most money off a single Instagram post, NetCredit determines which celebs earn most money off all their sponsored Instagram posts in 2021. The online lending service compiled a list of the most-followed Instagram stars in the world. Then it counted the number of sponsored posts made by each in the year 2021. They multiplied that number by the estimated per-post figures calculated by Hopper HQ.

The results showed that despite being 5th on Hopper’s Rich List for 2022, DJ doesn’t feature at all in NetCredit’s list of highest-earning Instagram celebrities.

While The Rock misses out, his co-star and $450 million worth actor, Kevin Hart, is on the list at number six worldwide. Hart made an impressive $26.1 million in revenue from Instagram in 2021. The actor-comedian also lands at number three in the U.S only list. For U.S, TV show host, Ellen DeGeneres, tops the list, closely followed by Beyonce at number two. NBA star, LeBron James, is the only athlete in at number nine. Surprisingly, Dwayne Johnson misses out on the Top-10 here as well.

Overall, the Portuguese soccer star, Cristiano Ronaldo, is at the top with $85.2 million in Instagram revenue, followed by his Argentine rival, Lionel Messi, with $72 million, while the Indian cricket star, Virat Kohli, rounds off the top three with $36.7 million. These three feature as the only athletes in the Top 10.

One of the likely reasons why DJ doesn’t feature in this list is because of the criteria. Since the list takes into account the number of sponsored posts made by the individual over the year, it is possible that the former WWE Champion made fewer such posts as compared to his counterparts in this period.

Now that Kevin Hart has toppled his friend, Dwayne Johnson in this list, we may get to see him rub it in, when the dynamic duo appear in the media together again. The two often give each other a hard time and have fun at the other’s expense. We will expect Hart to bring up his accomplishment sooner rather than later when DJ will be around.
