The period around 2007 to the early 2010s was difficult for Hulk Hogan. Even though he was having a good time in his professional life, The Hulkster went through a rough patch in his personal life. Amidst all these Hogan decided to have a Hulkamania tour in Australia in 2009, which included Ric Flair. However, due to his “expensive divorce” at the time, many thought he wrestled again for money. A WWE legend recently defended Hogan over these allegations.

Hulk Hogan didn’t wrestle for money at the Hulkamania Australia tour

The latest episode of the 83 Weeks podcast was on Hulkamania Tour that happened in Australia in 2009. Conrad Thompson read an article from Dave Meltzer to Eric Bischoff that stated Hogan and Flair wrestled for money for their “expensive divorces”.

Bischoff said, “Yeah, I don’t know. Maybe? Probably. If it’s not, should be I don’t know. But I don’t (think). Hulk wasn’t hurting for money. And I don’t know what Ric’s situation was back then. But Hulk wasn’t doing it for the money. Don’t get me wrong. Hulk likes money and certainly did back then. But he was not despite, and nothing Dave wrote is not true.”

He added, “It was an expensive divorce, a very expensive divorce. There were a lot of other legal bills associated with other things that were going on in the Graziano case that you described. So yeah, there were there was a lot of expenses going on. But Hulk still had enough money and he didn’t do it for the money.”

As covered in our previous article, Linda received 70% of her and Hogan’s liquid assets and a 40% ownership stake in his companies. That wasn’t all. She received an additional $3 Million property settlement and $7.44 Million for their joint investment accounts.

Bischoff came in to defend his friend over Meltzer’s report. Nevertheless, the 67-year-old knew what was actually bothering Hogan during the tour.

In the same episode, the former WCW official shared the 12-time world champion was suffering from severe knee and back pain. Moreover, he also gave the reason that excited Hogan and Flair to wrestle on the tour.

Bischoff shares why Hogan wrestled at Hulkamania Australia tour

Bischoff is one of the closest friends of Hogan and nearly knows several things about the legend. Therefore, he shared why The Hulkster stepped into the ring in 2009 if it wasn’t for money.

The former RAW General Manager, “I think Hulk just wanted to experience that rush again. He talked about this before, and it’s not unique to Hulk Hogan or Ric Flair or anybody else.”

He shared legend with the caliber of Hogan, and Flair would love to feel that adrenaline rush again. Therefore, this might be the reason The Immortal One wrestled at the Australian event where he hadn’t had matches in his career.
