Sonya Deville has been an on-screen authority figure along with Adam Pearce since 2021. But she recently returned to in-ring action following her feud against WWE SmackDown superstar, Naomi.

However, during the feud, Sonya had exercised her power as an on-screen authority figure and caused frustrations to Naomi.

This approach of Sonya did not fit well with the WWE Hall of Famer Booker T. He had an argument with Sonya Deville at the 2022 Royal Rumble Pre-Show.

Recently, during an episode of The Hall of Fame Podcast, Booker T opened up about his confrontation with Sonya Deville at the 2022 Royal Rumble Pre-Show. He called Sonya Deville out for the conflict of interest.

The WWE Hall of Famer mentioned Sonya’s roles in the company as an authority figure and as an in-ring wrestler as a matter of conflicting interest.

Booker T said, “She was talking nonsense. You can’t have it both ways. If I wasn’t on that show, nobody is going to call it like it is and say exactly how it’s supposed to be said. It’s a conflict of interest. How you gonna be calling the shots and getting in the ring at the same time?”

Further, Booker T recalled his relationship with Sonya Deville and mentioned Sonya as one of her pupils and their relationship goes all the way back to WWE Tough Enough.

He added, “I just want to keep the checks and balances in the right place. I’m not going to go on television and not give the people exactly what they want.”

Will Sonya Deville continue her rivalry with Naomi following Royal Rumble 2022?

Going into the Women’s 2022 Royal Rumble Match, Deville’s feud against Naomi became a center of attraction on WWE SmackDown. Both of them took part in the Women’s Royal Rumble match.

Sonya entered at number 11 but instead of entering the ring, Deville sat ringside. But following the entry of Cameron, who is Naomi’s former Tag Team partner, the WWE official stepped inside the ring and eliminated Cameron.

However, Naomi entered at number 14 and eliminated Sonya Deville to take revenge.

But Deville had the last laugh as she came back following her elimination and denied Naomi a chance to headline WrestleMania 38 by eliminating her from the match.

Naomi might have a lot to say on this week’s episode of WWE SmackDown after what happened at the Women’s Royal Rumble match.
