WWE Superstar Big E injured his neck during a tag team match against Ridge Holland and Sheamus alongside Kofi Kingston.

Holland executed a suplex on him, but the landing was botched. E took the entire impact on his neck after landing on his head. He was carried out of the arena on a stretcher and admitted to a medical facility.

As per the latest update from Big E, he doesn’t require surgery, but the C1 and C6 are fractured. Even though there isn’t any spinal cord damage, he still needs to wait until the fractured areas are healed.

But does it mean he can return to the ring? Dr. David Chao, who worked with WWE as a consulting physician and performed surgeries, has the answer.

The C6 fracture essentially would require a healing period of three months before full functions and activities can be restored. It doesn’t need surgery, but probably needs immobilization.

Unfortunately, the C1 fracture is slightly complicated. It’s the top cervical vertebrae. A fracture to these vertebrae is associated with paralysis and death. Considering it was displaced, he doesn’t need surgery. However, a C1 fracture never heals completely, and it could essentially lead to the end of his wrestling career.

Only time will tell if Big E will return to the ring again or not.

However, Big E has been booked in tag team matches for a while now, and no one knows why. He was completely removed from the title picture and fans wondered if there were backstage issues.
