The WWE handed pro wrestling fans around the world a shock after the promotion removed former NXT Women’s Champion Mandy Rose from its roster on December 14.

Though it wasn’t clear at the beginning, leading to the rise of several theories behind Rose’s unceremonious exit, the reason and subsequent actions preceding her exit have finally emerged.

It is no longer a secret that the WWE removed Rose after the company deemed her FanTime posts were in violation of her contract. However, a former superstar, who is working as a trainer currently, may have had a hand in the entire process.

WWE had no choice, had to get rid of Mandy Rose: Reports

Before Rose’s hasty exit from the WWE, came a hasty match in which she dropped her NXT Women’s title to Roxanne Perez, hours before being shown the door.

Speaking on Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer said that the WWE “believe that they had absolutely no choice but to get rid of her”. Meltzer also revealed that Michaels, the WWE Vice President of Talent Development, had to rewrite this week’s NXT, after learning about Rose’s “racy” content.

The end result was Rose losing her title after 413 days. During the aforementioned period, she defended it 10 times.

Meanwhile, Mandy took to Twitter to tweet a classy “Thank you” as she bid adieu. However, bemused fans took to the microblogging website to vent their feelings.

While one user called it the company’s “worst decision” in 2022, another called out Triple H.

“Damm triple h becoming Vince right now,” the netizen tweeted.

The WWE may have ditched her, but Mandy Rose has assured her fans that the FanTime page is still running.

According to Inside the Ropes, the former NXT Women’s Champion thanked the faithful for their love and support. “Hey guys, thank you for all the messages. I am overwhelmed with all the love and support from you guys. And don’t worry the page is still up!” she said in a new FanTime post.

While pro wrestlers drop their titles before moving to another brand of the promotion, Rose’s situation is unique. She was a top draw for the NXT brand and was one of its longest reigning champions.
