Dwayne Johnson is one of the biggest action heroes in Hollywood today. Since transitioning as an actor from a wrestler, The Brahma Bull has proven himself by being a safe action star. However, once while filming for a movie The Rock injured his co-star, who needed stitches later. It seems the WWE legend was learning to be an action star, and this was a mistake on his part. The injury could’ve been serious in this 2003 film.

Dwayne Johnson once accidentally injured his co-star

In 2003, The Rock shared the screen with Seann William Scott, Christopher Walken, Rosario Dawson, and William Lucking in the movie Rundown While filming a scene, The People’s Champion sliced Scott’s arm with a knife, which was supposed to be a prop.

As the IMDB website Trivia, “Dwayne Johnson accidentally sliced Seann William Scott’s arm open with a knife that was supposed to be a blunt prop knife but wasn’t. Although not seriously injured, Scott still required several stitches.”

The 10-time world champion is a safe co-actor to work with and clearly, this might be an accident. Nevertheless, the $25 Million worth star known for his role as Steve Stifler in the American Pie series wasn’t severely injured. 

The Rock and Scott had great chemistry in this movie. In this movie, Johnson (Beck) plays a bounty hunter who goes to retrieve his employer’s son Scott (Travis Walker) in Brazil. When they meet, they both go on an adventure to the missing golden artifact “O Gato do Diabo” (The Devil’s Cat).

The film got positive reviews but wasn’t able to earn more than its production value. They made the movie with a budget of $85 million and earned $81 million at the box office. Moreover, Arnold Schwarzenegger also appeared in this movie for a short cameo, which is called the passing of the torch moment by many.

In 2005, The Rock appeared in an interview with Playboy, where he talked about Arnie’s cameo in Rundown. He shared the seven-time Mr. Olympia agreed to the cameo in 20 mins and it was an impromptu offer. Schwarzenegger had come to the set to have lunch with the former WWE superstar.

The 8-time WWE Champion said, “Arnold stood right up and said, ‘Let’s go’. And within 20 minutes we were on the set. Peter was like, “What do you want to say?” Arnold said, ‘I want to tell him to have fun.’ Arnold knew early on that I wanted to do this, and he was helpful with advice.”
