While there are many things said about Vince McMahon, one thing that is certain is that he was the most successful promoter in the wrestling business. There was or is anyone who can rival the speed at which he made stars. While most of his roster in the ’90s was talented, he unlocked their potential and made them mega-stars. Steve Austin and Dwayne Johnson are the two most obvious examples of this.

But there were many times that McMahon had to twist the fans’ perspective to make the star appear brighter. Just like The Undertaker and his over-the-top entrance, segments, matches, and aura, McMahon tried it on someone else. But this man was already a national hero and a celebrated star in America and he recently revealed what McMahon had planned for him.

On the recent episode of his own The Kurt Angle Show, the Olympic gold medalist revealed how Vince McMahon tried to make the most out of his Olympic win. He said, “What Vince McMahon told me was that it is your rookie year. We’re gonna have you win every title because the more titles you win, the more obsessed you become. That’s why he wanted me to start out with 25 medals around my neck and not just one.”

Angle is still considered to be the best wrestler in wrestling history. His mastery over the sport and the consistency of brilliant matches were unheard of at that time. While Bret Hart and early Steve Austin were great, Angle made wrestling his own. There was no one who had a bad match with the former WWE Champion. In addition to that, the fans loved and adored him. His milk gimmick, while not at the same height as Austin, caught the attention of the fans.

But unfortunately, Angle had to leave the company as he had personal issues to take care of. Later, he returned to the company, something that people had lost hope of ever happening. But leaving WWE high and dry while he was at his peak had some consequences. Currently, the Olympian stays physically fit, hosts his notable podcast show where he can reminisce about many valuable WWE incidents.
