And for the last time in his life, at the age of 73, he is ready to wrestle.

Ric Flair survived a coma in 2017 with Charlotte Flair on his side

In recent times, there have been two instances when Ric Flair was under serious medical examination. After checking in with the hospital about an upset stomach, they informed the former WWE Champion that his past drinking habits had caught up with him.

They told my kids that everything had shut down — kidney failure, congestive heart failure, everything shut down,” he told an interviewer from ESPN after getting out of the hospital.

He also revealed his drinking habits in the interview, saying, “Ten days on life support. It’ll wake you up, man. Between 3,700 and 4,000 calories’ worth of booze — soda or a splash of cranberry — every day. Like 20 drinks a day.

Thankfully, his daughter Charlotte Flair and his whole family were by his side when this went down. Not only did he get a new lease on life, but his alcohol consumption also declined majorly.

Medical emergency led to surgery in 2019

While the worst had come and gone when The Nature Boy came out of the coma, there were still some complications with his heart. In May 2019, TMZ Sports reported that Flair was brought into the hospital for a medical emergency. As the doctors were questioning to perform surgery, they successfully completed it and sent Flair home in just a week.

Since then, there have been no medical worries for the Naitch. But there have been many concerns when it comes to the upcoming last match. While it is admirable to see Flair lace up the boots one last time, friends and family have shown their concern multiple times. We hope that Ric Flair is alright in the last match of his career on 31st July 2022.
