Lesnar’s first stint in the WWE lasted for two years- from 2002 to 2004. During this short time, he had managed to win a few championships already, showing a glimpse of the legend he would become. But not just his jostling, Lesnar also, albeit unknowingly, showed one of his future gimmicks- Cowboy Brock. A prominent feature of this gimmick is Lesnar’s cowboy hat, which adds to his characterization.
He dressed as one in 2003. An old clip of him shared by WWE showed the former WWE Champion walking inside the arena for a press conference ahead of WrestleMania 19, which was Lesnar’s first Mania.
While he wore a coat, The Beast had a cowboy hat on. Years later, it would become his style for his current gimmick as Cowboy Brock. Lesnar is known for his ferocity and intense nature, but Cowboy Brock has shown fans the fun side of the WWE icon since his return in 2021.

Both Angle and Lesnar had a background in amateur wrestling, and the match lived up to the expectations. Though Lesnar botched a Shooting Star Press, it was covered well by his hallowed opponent.
After jostling for over 21 minutes, The Next Big Thing had his win and managed to take the WWE Championship from Angle. The match, despite its flaws, was well-received by both the fans and critics and was rated highly.
