Brock Lesnar on Why His Wife Sable Had a Hard Time During His WWE Exit in 2004: “If I Hadn’t Been in..”

On our TV screens, WWE superstars look like excellent specimens of our species, whom we put on a pedestal. But one thing that we should remember is that these people who risk their lives just for our entertainment are nothing but human. And it goes especially for big names in the business like Brock Lesnar and The Undertaker.

We put these legends above everyone as invincible, but at the end of the day, they also want someone as their support system. And The Beast Incarnate opened up about his support system, Sable, another professional wrestler who was in the company at the same time as Lesnar.

In his biography, DeathClutch, Lesnar opened about the struggles with WWE’s schedule, his wish to be with his daughter, and having Sable support him through the darkest days of his career. The book is a great insight into Lesnar’s life before returning to WWE in 2012, from his beginnings to fighting in the UFC.

While talking about his decision to leave WWE, Lesnar writes, “My daughter, Mya, changed my life. I wanted to be there for her, wanted to watch her grow up. There were a lot of good things about working for WWE. I made a lot of money, even though I spent quite a bit of it trying to get out of my contract. I became famous, which did help me when I wanted a chance in the UFC. But the best thing was meeting my wife.”

“If I hadn’t been in WWE, I wouldn’t have met Rena [Sable]. She’s given me two healthy sons, and she’s been wonderful with Mya. Rena stood by my decision to leave WWE, which wasn’t easy for her because she was still with the company at the time. Besides the lifestyle and all the bullshit, I wanted to compete and get back into athletics again. I thought maybe I would give pro football a try.”

Later in the book, Lesnar also talks about the case that he filed against WWE and he mentions he could do it with Sable’s help. And he mentions her multiple times while talking about his UFC career as well.
