The New World Order is arguably the greatest faction to ever exist in wrestling. It can be credited with bringing sports entertainment to the mainstream. Such was their success that NBA legend Dennis Rodman did not hesitate in joining them. The notorious group’s member, Hulk Hogan, recently shared his favorite memory about him.
Rodman joined the rebellious ensemble in 1998 and feuded with another NBA legend, Karl Malone. He made a gargantuan sum of 1.6 million for his time in the WCW. The Immortal reminisced about his dearest memory with the former Chicago Bulls star.

He described the instance on the 1st episode of the 3rd season of Biography: WWE legends. Hogan said, “Favorite memory, would probably be for the nWO guys going out to the ring with Rodman in Chicago smoking cigars. And Phil Jackson out of his mind, calling me going Where is Rodman at? He needs to get back to practice. And I said, he doesn’t wanna come back, he wants to hang out. I don’t know what to tell you”.

For the unversed, Phil Jackson is a highly decorated coach in NBA history. He is the most successful coach in the competition, with 11 championships to his name. Rodman was under Jackson’s tutelage back then in the Chicago Bulls. ‘The Worm’ reportedly missed a media event before the 1998 finals to make an appearance in the WCW.
Chicago Bulls weren’t too affected
The Bulls still managed to beat Utah Jazz to lift the championship that year. Rodman was pretty close to missing out on a game in the final series. He was fined $20,000 for failing to appear at the event. But he reportedly enjoyed a heavy payday instead to appear in the WCW.
Rodman referred to himself as ‘Rodzilla’ during his time with the erstwhile promotion. The nWO also featured the legendary duo of Kevin Nash and the late great Scott Hall. The latter half of the 90s was filled with many exciting events involving the iconic group.

While Hulk Hogan can happily describe his favorite Dennis Rodman memory now, Phil Jackson would have been sweating at the prospect of one of his star players missing training. But to everyone’s delight, Chicago Bulls won that year’s NBA Championship, regardless. All’s well that ends well.
