But Shaquille O’Neal once lost in a challenge to another NBA legend despite having his good friend, Dwayne Johnson, in his corner. And this NBA legend against whom Shaq competed is none other than Charles Barkley.
Barkley and O’Neal once competed against each other in the Pain & Gain Liftoff challenge.

During this challenge, Charles Barkley and Shaquille O’Neal had stars of the Pain & Gain film, Mark Wahlberg and Dwayne Johnson, in their corners, respectively.
In this Pain & Gain Liftoff challenge, the two NBA legends had to perform bench presses using different weights.
Both of them successfully performed 135 pounds, 225 pounds, and 315 pounds bench presses in the first three rounds, respectively.
In the fourth round, Shaquille O’Neal failed to perform a 405 pounds bench press. Following Shaq’s failure, Charles Barkley took the opportunity and successfully performed a 405 pounds bench press to pick up the win over Shaquille O’Neal.
Following his victory, Charles Barkley said, “Shaquille is a sore loser.” Well, this challenge might have got the fans excited after all they got to see the two NBA legends square off against each other in this Pain & Gain challenge.

Also, the result of thing challenge might have surprised a few individuals. Because out of Barkley and Shaquille O’Neal, Shaq looks like the stronger individual. However, it was Barkley who emerged as the winner in this bench press challenge.
