Celebrities from various fields have shown interest in professional wrestling over the years. Some of them have become close friends and Charles Barkley is one of those celebrities. The NBA legend knows about the pro wrestling business and is friends with one of the legends, Ric Flair.

Recently, Ric Flair appeared on The Pivot Podcast where he recalled some memories of his career. Moreover, Flair also shared the story of how he met his closest friend, NBA star, Charles Barkley.

Flair said, “And then becoming friends I mean having Barkley walking the spectrum was the old building in the house in Philadelphia. We went to convention center, guess it was sitting in front row in the convention center. Charles Barkley, that’s where I met Charles. We became lifelong friends.”

He added, “Then Dennis Rodman. I used to have a big 10 gold gyms and I had a big Christmas party at the park hotel and anyhow in comes Michael, Rodman Scottie Pippen to the Christmas party. I got some great stories about that though.”

Ric Flair wrestled for almost 40 years of his life. In the career that spun for such a long time, Flair was popular not among the wrestling universe, but outside it too. Everyone knows his most notable friendships with NBA star Dennis Rodman and Charles Barkley.

There is no doubt that ‘The Nature Boy’ was an iconic figure back in his days of wrestling. He remembers most of it in the current date. However, as Flair said, he is a lifelong friend of Charles Barkley and both often meet each other and have a good time.

Charles Barkley is a fan and best friend of Ric Flair

Ric Flair is a wrestling icon who does not need any introduction. The Nature Boy made a legacy for himself in the 40 years he wrestled. Charles Barkley sometime back appeared on The Sessions with Renee Paquette, where he talked about Flair being the closest from the pro wrestling business. 

Barkley said, “I have been in the business a long time. One of my best friends is Ric Flair. I’ve known The Rock since he was in college. I have been to a gazillion matches, even going back to Birmingham, Alabama, where I grew up in a small town. I’m talking and I’m going Four Horsemen, Junkyard Dog. So I have been in the business for a long time.”

Barkley was a friend of The Rock since college and later in his life became the best friend of Ric Flair. The pro wrestling business has revolved around the former NBA star all along.
