Kobe Bryant and Shaquille O’Neal are two of the greatest basketball players in the world. There is absolutely no doubt about that.

Over the years, several NBA players have been compared to these basketball legends. But recently, two WWE NXT superstars claimed they are like Kobe Bryant and Shaquille O’Neal.

The NXT 2.0 roster is loaded with impressive talents that certainly possess the potential to make it big on the main roster. Carmelo Hayes and Trick Williams are two such superstars.

During the latest episode of WWE NXT, Williams mentioned himself and Hayes to be like Shaq and Kobe.

Trick Williams compares himself and Carmelo Hayes to Shaquille O’Neal and Kobe Bryant

During the latest episode of WWE NXT, Trick Williams expressed his happiness for Carmelo Hayes following his impressive win over Roderick Strong earlier this year.

He said, “You see Melo [Carmelo Hayes], I am happy for you. Because when you have gold, we both have gold. See you might not know this, but Trick and Melo go together like peanut butter and jelly, like Shaq and Kobe.”

Kobe Bryant and Shaquille O’Neal played together for the Los Angeles Lakers from 1996 to 2004.

During that period, the duo looked unstoppable. From 2000 to 2002, they won three consecutive championships and also reached a fourth NBA Finals in the 2003-04 campaign.

In September 2021, Carmelo Hayes and Trick Williams got along together. The duo has been together since and has looked very promising.

Hayes and Williams are undoubtedly two of the greatest talents on the NXT roster, but to reach the success level that Kobe and Shaq had is not a simple job.

Hayes and Williams certainly have the talent to reach such great heights, but it is too soon to compare them to the basketball legends. However, they certainly possess the potential to make it to that level of success in the future.
