A segment from tonight’s edition of Friday Night SmackDown sounds like the introduction of a bad joke as we say that two NBA rivals and a YouTube star enter a wrestling ring. However, it was a real incident at New York’s Madison Square Garden Backyard on the Blue Brand. As Logan Paul convinced Pacers star Tyrese Haliburton to be ringside during his match with L.A. Knight. But who else was at ringside? None other than Jalen Brunson. Of course, Haliburton and Brunson haven’t known each other since the 2024 NBA postseason, where the former’s Knicks were defeated by the latter’s Pacers in seven games.

Paul, of course, has taken advantage of his YouTube fame to launch a new career in combat sports and wrestling, where he has also been able to promote his energy drink, PRIME. But Friday’s Smackdown wasn’t about promoting drinks or the NBA. Instead, there was a heavy dose of chest-thumping between crowd favorite Brunson and the burgeoning Paul-Haliburton alliance. Something that even inspired Ice Cube’s son, O’Shea Jackson Jr., to decide to start training in pro wrestling.

The MSG came alive at the sight of Tyrese Haliburton heading into the opponent’s area, accompanying Logan Paul. And as the two made their way to the ring, Haliburton stopped in his tracks at the sight of Brunson sitting in the front row. With both face-to-face, fans were excited. And even the internet was in full swing after the encounter when fans demanded a wrestling match between the two NBA stars. And one of the fans was O’Shea Jackson, who asked WWE veteran Booker T to teach him wrestling so he too could appear on the show. He tweeted, “Yo @BookerT5x Im ready to start that training brotha”.

Booker T runs the ‘Reality of Wrestling’ promotion in Houston, Texas, since 2005. And there, he trains up-and-coming superstars such as Zilla Fatu, who might end up making his debut for the WWE pretty soon. So maybe Jackson, too, can appear alongside Logan Paul someday as one of his henchmen. Or maybe even as a possible rival who can dethrone the Maverick as the US Champion. After all, Paul truly has been a dominant champ, with his recent milestone proving his worth.

After Logan Paul confirmed that he would dedicate himself full-time to his WWE career, he won the United States Championship against Rey Mysterio at Crown Jewel in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Since then, despite having few title defenses, the influencer has also provided an acceptable reign. Therefore, it is normal for him to achieve important things.

According to Wrestle Features, Logan Paul surpassed 228 days as United States Champion, making him the second-longest reigning champion in the last decade and second only to Austin Theory, who managed 258 days. It doesn’t look like Logan Paul is going to lose the United States Championship anytime soon.
