When a list of modern greats is compiled the SmackDown women’s champion, Charlotte Flair, is certain to feature on it. Her 14 reigns at the top are merely the tip of the iceberg. ‘The Queen’ has an extraordinary move-set and executes it with near perfection. Not many on the main roster come close to her in terms of pure talent. Apart from wooing wrestling fans on a consistent basis, Flair recently appeared at the Daytona 500.
Many popular names from the WWE have attended the popular race including John Cena. It is a common occurrence for a famous celebrity to attend the event every year. This time it was marked by the presence of Flair. She also took this opportunity to interact with the media ahead of the race. The second-generation superstar discussed a host of topics including her love for NASCAR, Ronda Rousey, etc.

She talked to ‘The Daytona Beach News Journal‘. Flair opened up on her passion for NASCAR, “I feel like, growing up in Charlotte, there are not many natives. Usually, people moved in due to a job or whatever. But since middle school, when I was old enough to go races in the summer, we’d go just to tailgate. I was the passenger for the pace car at the Coca-Cola 600 in 2019. And I’ve tailgated for the (Daytona 500)”.
In her own words, she has been an ardent follower of NASCAR. Flair has been born and brought up in Charlotte, North Carolina. She described that she had been tailgating at races since a very young age. As told by the blue brand women’s champion she appeared in the 2019 Coca-Cola 600 as well. She did not shy away from displaying her obvious love for NASCAR.
Flair faces a tough challenge at WrestleMania 39
On the wrestling front, Flair is scheduled to face Rhea Ripley at WrestleMania 39. The latter outclassed 29 other women to earn her shot at glory. It would be interesting to witness who gets the bragging rights among the two. ‘The Queen’ returned at the last SmackDown of 2022 to utter shock. She challenged the then women’s champion Ronda Rousey to an impromptu championship match. And that’s how her latest reign began.

Charlotte Flair is a well-known name in the sports circuit. While she has a great love for wrestling, her affection for NASCAR was on full display at Daytona 500. Having previously appeared at a famous race, it would not be a surprise if Flair makes other NASCAR appearances in the future as well.
