Thirteen years ago, NASCAR drivers Joey Logano and Kyle Busch battled hard on the racetrack and had an epic rivalry. However, WWE gave them the opportunity to settle their beef in an unfamiliar environment. Who ever thought that racing and wrestling fans would witness Busch and Logano in a wrestling ring? Did they have a match?

In 2009, during the Nationwide Series, Logano had a 4-1 advantage over his teammate. But, at the same time, Kyle Busch was not afraid to mention that he was tired of finishing second to the Sprint Cup Rookie.

Kyle Busch’s nickname “Rowdy,” speaks volumes regarding how fans feel about him. There’s no secret to his aggressive driving; his “not my fault” attitude made him a perfect heel inside the ring. This is what exactly Kyle Busch did when he entered the WWE ring and became the heel character.

Joe Gibbs Racing teammates Joey Logano and Kyle Busch once guest hosted WWE Monday Night Raw in Buffalo, New York. After a quote about being in Buffalo was referred, Busch said, “A city that hasn’t won a playoff game since Hulkamania.”

As Busch played the villain, the then 19-year-old, took the babyface role. This setup of Busch as heel and Logano as a babyface was unique for both racing and wrestling fans.

Did the Joe Gibbs Racing teammates wrestle inside the ring?

During this Raw episode, The Big Show and Chris Jericho were WWE Tag Team Champions. As Jericho and The Big Show had a segment in the ring on Raw, the No. 18 and 20 Nationwide Series cars of Kyle Busch and Joey Logano popped up on the TitanTron.

They burned the tires off in the arena’s parking lot. Then, after 30 seconds of smoke billowing from under the cars, the two made their way into the ring in incredible fashion.

While Kyle Busch made his first official match by putting Chris Jericho against Kofi Kingston, Logano followed by putting The Big Show against ‘The Game’ Triple H for the main event.

Busch and Logano did a great job handling themselves in front of such a large crowd, especially on live television. However, Busch’s ultimate heel held his character upfront throughout the show.

Watching the two lace-up wrestling boots and brawl inside the WWE ring would have been amazing. However, that did not happen because the Joe Gibbs Racing teammates tagged along to host a Raw episode instead. Even though they didn’t compete, it was an unforgettable night for NASCAR’s true heel and babyface.
