If there is one thing that never changes in wrestling since its beginning, it’s an amazing storyline. Whether it is Vince McMahon or Triple H, everyone understands when one of the greatest storylines is staring at them head-on. This time that storyline is between none other than Brock Lesnar and the guest referee for WWE Extreme Rules, Daniel Cormier.

The story is right there and writes itself. Cormier, the UFC legend, was one of the people who Lesnar had a brawl with during his UFC run. But unfortunately, Dana White didn’t schedule a match between the two at the time. It was the perfect opportunity to put The Beast against someone he had a real chance of losing. But this time, Triple H has the baton to make this possible in the squared circle.

Daniel Cormier speaks out about the possible match between him and Brock Lesnar in the WWE

In an interview with ESPN MMA, Daniel Cormier talked about his WWE debut. While in WWE, the interview asked him about a potential moment with Brock Lesnar. He replied, “This is honestly very good for me because people start to talk. People start talking going, ‘Oh my goodness, I remember when him and Brock were in the octagon [and] supposed to fight.’ So, it seems to make a lot of sense, but as you know, just because something makes sense, doesn’t mean it’s going to happen. So no, there is no talk of me fighting Brock Lesnar.

While Cormier clearly stated what no one wants to accept, we can always have some hope. Considering the fact this is WWE, a company that has proved itself to do the impossible throughout its existence. Bad Bunny performing a beautiful Canadian Destroyer or Donald Trump competing with Vince McMahon by keeping his hair on the line are just some random examples.

Also, WWE has been killing it with celebrity matches in the past few years. The aforementioned Bad Bunny, boxer, and Influencer Logan Paul, footballer and podcaster Pat McAfee, and stunt actor and comedian Johnny Knoxville have all performed excellently in the past. While talking about surprises and unbelievable things happening, WWE has always said to never say never, as they heavily market that the ‘card is subject to change’.
