The WWE Universe has another good news in the bank with their latest signee. Well, the substantial part of the new signee by WWE is that she is a former MMA fighter. The 23-year-old ex-Bellator star Valerie Loureda announced she was done with MMA and has signed a contract with WWE.

Vince McMahon’s company has increasingly shifted its focus to finding pro wrestlers from the independent scene. Instead, the company has launched a NIL campaign for college athletes, designed to get them into the door with WWE once their NCAA careers end.

Valerie Loureda is one of a kind and is walking away from the octagon cage to the squared circle. The former MMA fighter seems to follow in the footsteps of WWE superstars Ronda Rousey and Shayna Baszler.

Valerie Loureda is known as “Master” for her in-ring skills, with a compiled MMA record of 4-1 while fighting in Bellator. However, what makes her special about signing with WWE is that she is the first Cuban-American superstar.

The rising sensation Valerie Loureda, while speaking on Ariel Helwani’s MMA Hour podcast, revealed her happiness in joining the WWE.

 

Loureda said, “I have now become the first Cuban-American woman, and I am now a WWE superstar. So I’m really excited and I’ve dedicated my whole life to martial arts, and everything has come to this moment. And this is my opportunity to showcase my culture and show the world the entertainer that I am.”

After the announcement, the former MMA star took to social media and thanked the WWE and WWE NXT for giving her this opportunity. In the photo posted by ‘Master’ Loureda, she is holding the Money in the Bank briefcase, which might hint at her WWE debut.

According to the WWE reports, Loureda is an international Taekwondo champion and black belt. WWE SmackDown Women’s Champion Ronda Rousey and Shayna Baszler came to the WWE after ending their MMA careers.

In addition, ‘The King of the Kings’ spoke highly and praised Loureda on social media. The former Bellator star attended WWE tryouts in April before WrestleMania 38. ‘Master’ Loureda, after attending the WWE tryouts, amused the selectors and vouched to bring her entertainment skills into the squared circle.
