UFC Middleweight Israel Adesanya Credits Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson and WWE Attitude Era for a Special Reason

Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson is a polarising figure in sports and entertainment. The Rock has had great success in WWE and has become one of the most popular superstars ever. The Great One is a former 10-time World Champion in WWE and has had a legendary career. He has since transcended WWE to become one of the biggest megastars in Hollywood. The Rock’s fanbase and reach keep on increasing with his every new endeavor.

One person who looks up to The Rock is none other than the current UFC Middleweight Champion, Israel Adesanya. Adesanya is an incredible athlete and a dominating fighter. He has won multiple championships in different combat sports. ‘The Last Stylebender’ is a mixed martial artist, kickboxer, and former boxer. Moreover, he is a lifelong WWE fan.

Recently, Israel appeared on The MMA Hour podcast and narrated how he loves WWE and that it has played a huge role in his life. One person in particular that he admires is The Rock, especially for how The Rock owned the stage.

“I respect that guy. I’ve loved him since The Attitude Era. This is already well known. Even post-fight when I was talking to Booker T. Those guys, I watched them and watched the way they owned the stage and it influences you. Definitely, my presence has been influenced from watching years of The Attitude Era of WWE.” said Israel.

Another person who Israel looked up to was Booker T. Israel further said that he and his family loved wrestling growing up and would try to imitate wrestlers. Especially wrestlers from The Attitude Era.
