WWE and Triple H impressed everyone this past Sunday once again by delivering an over the top Takeover. The Black and Gold brand had four title defenses namely, NXT Championship, NXT Women’s Championship, NXT North American Championship, and NXT Cruiserweight Championship.
There were no title changes, but the show was a good one. Unfortunately, the high-level proceedings led to a lot of injuries to the top NXT stars. These injuries will possibly change the direction of many storylines.

The main event between Finn Balor and Kyle O’Reilly was a brutal and intense match for the NXT Championship. These two were not the same after their match, which was clear. Here is an official statement by WWE on both the superstars.
WWE gives a medical update on several NXT superstars
“The main event of NXT TakeOver 31 was a brutal, hard-hitting battle for the NXT Championship between Finn Bálor and Undisputed ERA’s Kyle O’Reilly. In the aftermath of the grueling main event, it has become evident that both Superstars are worse for wear. O’Reilly has a number of broken teeth as a result of the fight with The Prince, WWE.com has learned. O’Reilly is also being evaluated for additional injuries.
WWE.com can also report that Bálor has been taken to a local medical facility for CAT scans to determine if he suffered potential facial fractures in his successful title defense.”
The other two superstars have suffered injuries at the PPV were Adam Cole and Velveteen Dream. An assault from newbie Ridge Holland injured Adam Cole while Velveteen Dream suffered injuries at the hands of Kushida. However, WWE has confirmed Dream will feature on NXT this week.
“Cole suffered broken ribs and contusions due to an apparent attack suffered at the hands of powerful newcomer Ridge Holland. Holland dropped Cole’s limp body at ringside following the conclusion of the NXT Championship main event between Finn Bálor and Kyle O’Reilly, prompting his fellow Undisputed ERA members to call for immediate medical attention.”

“Velveteen Dream, meanwhile, suffered a fractured wrist after facing Kushida at TakeOver 31.
