After being released earlier this year, WWE misbehaved with Mickie James by sending her belongings in a trash bag, After this incident, fans were looking forward to seeing Mickie proving her worth in a different promotion.
James’ no-compete-clause was over recently and the pro wrestling world was buzzed with where we would see her next. At Impact’s Slammiversary event on Saturday (7/17), Mickie James showed up.
She returned after the Knockout Champion, Deonna Purrazzo retained her title in a bout with Thunder Rosa. Rosa appeared as a surprise opponent, and this was her first match in Impact Wrestling.

Mickie, on the other hand, returned under her old moniker ‘Hardcore Country.’ However, she was not there to wrestle, yet. Apart from Impact, James holds a post at National Wrestling Alliance (NWA).
She is one of the executive producers of NWA’s first all-female PPV NWA Empowerrr. As a representative, James came out to Purrazzo to offer her a post at the event.
Notably, Thunder Rosa is a part of NWA’s women’s locker room and has been the Women’s Champion. However, Purrazzo was not feeling well about James’ proposal.
She accused the veteran of stealing her spotlight. The Virtuosa told James to “grab your trash bag and get the hell out of here.” This resulted in her receiving a slap and a superkick from the former three-time Knockout Champion.

Mickie James reveals who she contacted for NWA Empowerrr
Mickie James recently spoke with WrestleZone about the All Women’s NWA pay-per-view, Empowerrr. She revealed which superstars she has contacted and who has been helping her in her first official executive post.
“I’m hand-selecting the women that go into the [NWA Women’s Invitational] Cup, along with the women that I have aligned myself with,” she revealed. “I’m talking to Gail [Kim], I’m talking to Madusa, I’m talking to LuFisto.”

“Then I have my friend, Brent Tarring, who has been my friend for ages and has really helped me a lot with this project, both behind-the-scenes and he’ll be one of the commentators at the table. So I have so many amazing people I trust and value their opinion,” James said.

Mickie James will also wrestle at she will be returning to the ring at the NWA 73rd Anniversary Show after an open challenge. Considering NWA, Impact, and AEW’s overlapping contract, we might see her in AEW as well.
