This week’s episode of SmackDown will see John Cena return for a match. It will be a tag team match against Roman Reigns and Sami Zayn, while he’ll team up with Kevin Owens.
WWE always tries to avoid any blunders when a massive return or a moment is planned. However, amidst Cena’s return to have a match after 475 days, WWE’s partnered TV channel makes a huge botch on social media while creating the hype of him coming back.

Recently, WWE on BT Sport shared a post which had all the major stats of John Cena. The numbers mentioned surely make The 16-time world champion “a living legend”, but one of the stats might haven’t been checked.
They mentioned Cena’s longest match in WWE against Shawn Michaels on RAW that went for 55:49 minutes. Surprisingly, ‘Super Cena’ has had a 60 minute Iron Match against Randy Orton in 2009 at Bragging Right PLE. It happened on October 14th, 2009 and Cena won the match via 6 to 5 pinfall.
.@JohnCena's numbers are a joke 🤯

It seems they might have to refer as the longest match without a stipulation. However, it is an assumption and only WWE knows why they added this match as his career’s longest match.
Fans call out WWE for their blunder of the longest match of John Cena

Him and Orton had an Ironman match, unless yall aren't counting that one

Where did he had the match with The Viper?
About the Longest Match I going to disagree because it's was in 2009 when Cena was facing Randy Orton in Iron Man Match at Bragging Rights.

Indeed, wrestling fans are well versed with all the facts!
I hate to be a stickler but he had an Iron Man Match vs Randy Orton that went the full 60 mins so that would actually be his longest match. 👍

Problem with posts like this is when something is easily proven wrong (he had the 60 minute iron man match against against Orton) then it puts doubt on all other stats included.

Well, there is more on Cena’s longest match being against Randy Orton.
Wouldn't his 60-min Iron Man Match against Randy Orton be his longest match?🤨

Probably gonna earn my virginity back here but wasn't his longest match an hour iron man with Randy Orton?
— dave (@davidbhampsom) December 28, 2022
How is his longest match 55 min when he had a 60 min iron man match with Randy orton?

Nothing but respect for The Cenation Leader.
People clamored for him to leave, but you truly don’t know what you got til it’s gone. A man on par with any great in wrestling history.

The above reactions are enough to show how close the fans are with WWE. They remember most of the stats and they quickly pointed out the longest match of Cena.

After addressing the WWE universe earlier this year on his 20th anniversary in the company, Cena will finally have a match this year after 475 days. The last time he stepped in the ring was at SummerSlam 2021 against Roman Reigns for the Universal title.
The Peacemaker star has wrestled matches every year since his debut. It seems he wants to continue this momentum for years to come.
