Dwayne Johnson promoted the most recent DCEU film Black Adam by calling it will bring the new era to the DC Universe. The Rock has always been vocal about bringing a change in the DC filmmaking by introducing new characters, storylines, and most importantly, what fans want to see.
Recently, Johnson talked about how it is important to listen to the fans before making a superhero movie. He related making a movie with wrestling to highlight the importance of the fans.

In a clip shared by a fan, Dwayne Johnson highlighted why listening to the fans will help the DCEU grow. He revealed how much it frustrated him while the studio wasn’t listening to the fans.
The Rock said, “I believe that…I don’t wanna say the superhero genre, I’ll rather say what’s been missing out in DC in my opinion is fresh characters (and) new blood. But also just as important what has been missing is leadership who actually listens to the fans and gives the fans what they want and what they’re so passionate about. Because when you get millions of fans who are passionate and wanting something and just wanting to be heard.”

He added, “They were completely ignored for years. Not only that just pi**ed me off because I came from the world of pro-wrestling I wrestled in front of 40 people to 40-50, a hundred thousand people. But the key for me for wrestling as The Rock was always listen to the fans. Because they were gonna guide me. So the same thing applies here to the superhero genre, to DC.”
There was a backlash by the fans a few months prior when DJ called the DC Extended Universe as the Black Adam DC Extended Universe. However, The Rock later shared a post in which he apologized to the fans and stated that the Black Adam story will run parallel with the current DCEU storyline.

The DC fans shared their reaction as The Rock spoke about the importance of listening to the fans. Moreover, it impressed the fans and they appreciated Johnson for making it possible for many things to happen in the DCEU.
