Dwayne Johnson didn’t want wrestler jokes in his SNL skits
A week ago, Dwayne Johnson gave an interview on ENews where he recalled the first time he hosted SNL for the first time. He shared making a request to the SNL creator and producer Lorne Michaels.
‘The Great One’ said, “I said, ‘I would love if we could take a crack at not doing any skits where I’m a wrestler.’I would like to play as many characters as possible that aren’t wrestlers because I am a wrestler, and I play a wrestler every week.”
The five-time SNL host had a good skit and after that was the time for him, “When Hollywood came knocking.” Also, The Rock said, “I think Hollywood had their eye on me” and this episode was the stepping stone for his entry into Hollywood.

Michaels gave a thumbs-up to DJ, and they started writing the skit for the show. The Rock calls it, “a great week of creative and storytelling and creating these skits and putting these skits together and I think it worked out really well.”
Clearly, Johnson’s debut as the Saturday Night Live host was a memorable one. Along with DJ, other WWE superstars like Triple H, Mick Foley, and The Big Show. Moreover, Vince McMahon also appeared in the show having a chat with Lorne Michaels.

The show aired before WrestleMania that year. One of the matches on the cards was The Rock vs Triple H vs The Big Show vs Mick Foley. Thus, WWE was able to promote the grandest event and Dwayne Johnson as the future of Hollywood too.
The Rock might win Royal Rumble in 2023!
Royal Rumble is the Mecca of memorable returns that make the fans go crazy. Similarly, next year to start a feud between Roman Reigns vs The Rock, DJ might enter the Rumble. However, lately, there are rumors of him winning it.
According to a report by Ringside News, the 50-year-old WWE legend is taking a ‘downtime from acting’ to focus on his newest football league XFL. Therefore, this is a great time for him to step into the ring for arguably one last time.
