66-Year-Old WWE Legend Convinced Dwayne Johnson vs. Hulk Hogan Could Get Surpassed by Cody Rhodes & Roman Reigns at WrestleMania

After defeating Sami Zayn on his home turf, Roman Reigns is ready to face Cody Rhodes at WrestleMania 39. The bar is set high as many think ‘The American Nightmare’ will dethrone ‘The Tribal Chief’. Surprisingly, one wrestling legend has set the bar even higher while comparing their match at the grandest stage with The Rock vs Hulk Hogan. Hogan and Dwayne Johnson have often talked about their match being one of their career best.

As WrestleMania 39 is approaching, this statement by a legend makes the match more interesting than before.

WrestleMania 39 Main Event may surpass Dwayne Johnson and Hulk classic match

Recently, WWE Hall of Famer, Diamond Dallas Page sat for an interview with TMZ. He shared how important the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship match is for Rhodes. Moreover, he indirectly compared the hype of their match with The Rock vs Hulk Hogan.

DDP said, “The way they did that match at the Rumble was amazing and setting this up with Roman Reigns, it’s gonna be so electric. The energy is going to be, it’s gonna go through the roof.”

He added, “To me upto this point my favorite Mania match was actually The Rock and Hogan. I love that match. I think you’re gonna see something their own version of best match at WrestleMania”

No doubt ‘The Great One’ and ‘The Hulkster’ had one of the greatest crowds in the history of all WrestleManias. Even though Hogan was a heel, everyone cheered for him the most. 

In the recent AE WWE Legends: NWO biography The Immortal One says he tried to turn the crowd against him, but he wasn’t able to. DDP believes we will see a similar sight when Rhodes and Reigns clash at WrestleMania 39.

The former three-time WCW World Champion is with The American Nightmare for a long time. As Dusty Rhodes was his mentor, Page is doing the same for The American Dream’s son. Clearly, DDP would be the happiest person if Cody Rhodes wins the title at the grandest stage.

DDP shares how Dusty Rhodes would feel watching his son now

The crux of Cody Rhodes’ main eventing WrestleMania is to become the world champion for his father. The former Intercontinental Champion was close to his father and wishes he would be here to see him.

DDP, in the same interview, shared that ‘The American Dream’ would have been excited, but more emotional watching his son main-eventing WrestleMania.
