“Knock Him Down”: Emily Blunt’s Calls to Help Selena Gomez Beat Dwayne Johnson Left Him in an Awkward Position Amid a Tight Battle

While filming The Jungle Cruise, Dwayne Johnson really had a great time. He became friends with his co-stars, Emily Blunt and Jack Whitehall. The trio spent a great time together filming and promoting the movie. 

Over the course of a year, they became great friends. However, Whitehall and Blunt once indirectly called Selena Gomez to defeat Johnson, putting him in an awkward situation.

In 2021, Dwayne Johnson and Emily Blunt appeared on LADBible TV to plate ‘Do You Even Know Me’. Their co-actor Jack Whitehall was the host and asked Blunt a question about DJ’s Instagram followers. 

At the time, The Rock was the most followed American on Instagram with 256 million followers. Blunt answered wrong, but Whitehall had a message for the fans which would help Selena Gomez gain some followers. 

Whitehall said, “Anyone watching please just go online now and follow Selena Gomez. Let us knock him down a peg”

Blunt repeated, “Knock him down a peg…” Johnson replied, “Got delivered, I signed guys.”

It seems the fans really followed Whitehall’s words and followed Gomez on Instagram. Today, one year later, Selena Gomez has 356 million followers, which is more than the former WWE Champion who has 347 million followers.

Nevertheless, neither of the stars Johnson and Gomez are the most followed American on Instagram. As of now, Kylie Jenner is the most followed American with 372 million followers.

Selena Gomez once outranked Dwayne Johnson to be number one on social media 

A couple of months ago in September, Science Happiness shared a report in which they stated the Top 10 influential celebrities. There were names of several popular celebrities on the list which showed positive influential posts.

Surprisingly, Dwayne Johnson, who always influences people, was number 2 with 36% positive tweets. Popular singer, actress, and businesswoman Selena Gomez took the number 1 spot, with 38% positive tweets.

The website shared how they found the posts and ranked the celebrities. They analyzed 1,000,000 tweets to find out what it takes to be a positive or negative influence. Hence, they ranked their top 10 celebrities in terms of positive tweets.

Furthermore, Gomez and Johnson are nominated for the ‘The comedy TV star of 2022’ category for The People’s Choice Awards’. There is a possibility the singer can defeat The Rock in the same too.
