Entering the acting world was one of the best decisions of Dwayne Johnson. After giving classics and blockbuster matches in WWE, he did the same thing in Hollywood.

Following The Brahma Bull, Dave Bautista and John Cena also entered Hollywood. While Cena seems to have taken DJ’s path in Hollywood, Batista went the other way around and doesn’t like to be compared with The Rock.

Recently, The Animal sat for an interview with GQ in which he talked about his upcoming film. Moreover, he also explained why he has done different films, unlike his other two WWE colleagues.

Batista said, “I never wanted to be the next Rock. I just want to be a good fucking actor. A respected actor.” 

When you take a look at Johnson and Batista, they have a lot of similar things. Both are muscular, huge human beings, who made a successful WWE career and then joined the acting world.

However, the approach of both the former WWE champions towards the selection of movie projects is different. The Animal said to Tampa Bay Times in 2019 about what makes him different from The Rock and John Cena.

He said, “Those guys are wrestlers who became movie stars. I’m … something else. I was a wrestler. Now, I’m an actor.” 

Cena and Batista fought several times in WWE for the top price of the company. Unfortunately, The Rock and The Animal never had a singles match in WWE. But they were a part of WrestleMania 20 3 on 2 Handicap tag team match.

Batista doesn’t consider Dwayne Johnson an actor

While speaking with the Tampa Bay Times in 2019, The Guardians of the Galaxy star opened up about his views on Johnson’s acting. As per his comments, it seemed he had a direct approach to what he thinks about The Rock and his films.

Batista said, “Rock was, in a way, a movie star before he was even a movie star. There is something about him that’s really special. I’d never take that away from him. Would I consider him a great actor? F**k no.”

Furthermore, the Knives Out director recently called Dave Bautista, the best wrestler turned actor in Hollywood right now.

Batista said he didn’t get equal opportunities as John Cena

The Cenation Leader and The Animal were the top stars of WWE in their respective brands. Cena was on RAW while Batista was on SmackDown. But the Dune actor has some complaints which he said to GQ.

He claimed that even though they both were headlining major PLEs, Cena got more opportunities in WWE-produced films. The WWE legend said, “It was just a feeling of, ‘We’re not getting equal opportunities.”
