Dwayne Johnson has done a remarkable job as a wrestler who transitioned into a Hollywood actor and achieved success after hard work. Moreover, The Rock paved a way for many WWE stars and wrestlers to make it into the acting world.

Yet, a former WWE Champion turned Hollywood actor had some serious words against DJ’s acting. If you’re thinking it’s John Cena, then your guess is wrong.

In 2019, Christopher Spata of Tampa Bay Times interviewed WWE legend and actor Dave Bautista or Batista. In the interview, ‘The Animal’ had some serious words regarding other WWE star-turned-actors, Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson and John Cena.

Batista said, “Do not compare me to The Rock or John Cena. Everyone does it,” as he “hates” it. “Those guys are wrestlers who became movie stars. I’m … something else. I was a wrestler. Now, I’m an actor.” However, he didn’t clarify what he meant by this phrasing of his opinion. 

The Rock was the first WWE star to become an actual break-out actor in Hollywood. A few years later, Batista also decided to have a movie career and, after struggling initially, The Animal achieved success, as he plays a significant character in Marvel Cinematic Universe. 

John Cena too started a Hollywood career and after a few years of handling acting and wrestling side-by-side, he too started pursuing a movie career. It is safe to say all three stars are having great acting careers.

Batista doesn’t think Dwayne Johnson is a great actor!

In the same interview, The Animal said he prefers movies that have stories of good quality. Moreover, he added that, unlike DJ, he is not looking for stardom as an actor. Batista also praised DJ but answered this on whether The Rock is a great actor or not.

The former WWE Champion said, “Rock was, in a way, a movie star before he was even a movie star. There is something about him that’s really special. I’d never take that away from him.” 

Bautista added, “Would I consider him a great actor? F**k no.”

However, the ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’ actor really had some honest opinions about The Great One. He praised The Rock as a movie star since the time he was in WWE. Also, Batista added what makes him a different actor from Johnson.

He said, “I want good roles. I don’t care about Fast and Furious or Bumblebee. … That’s not the kind of stardom I want. … I want to be in Dune, I want to work with Denis Villeneuve, I want to work with Sam Mendes and Jodie Foster. (Moreover) I want to work with Academy Award winners. I’m proud to be a character actor (and) I want that respect and credibility and education.” Batista’s dreams in his acting career seem to be really noteworthy.

Unfortunately, in WWE, Batista and The Rock never got a chance to have a singles match. But they faced each other in a handicap match between The Rock n Sock Connection vs Evolution.
