In a popular and big company like WWE, it’s common to have disagreements between the promotion’s decision and the wrestler’s choice. One such instance was witnessed when a three-time Women’s champion called out WWE for not honoring her contract. She has been quite vocal about it and thus now strongly criticized the company for providing Lita and Trish Stratus with special treatment.
It’s been over four years since the veteran WWE star has had a match in WWE. Madusa last fought in 2018 under the roster’s banner in the WWE all-female Evolution Pay per view despite getting retired in 2001. However, as we know, retirement has never been a restriction for a WWE wrestler in making further in-ring appearances.
But what Madusa has been eyeing is a retirement match that’s been due. And in her process of reminding the company for the same, she included the names of well-known WWE women wrestlers.

Veteran women’s wrestler calls out WWE while putting forward her wish
Speaking to TVInsider in an interview, the WWE Hall of Famer was asked if she is looking forward to a last match as she is in great shape now. Along with this, the interviewer also mentioned the male wrestlers of her age who are still competing.
To this, Medusa responded straight away, stating her wish for a retirement match. She said, “I would love to have a retirement match.” Further, she indirectly dissed the “Attitude Era” and how the company has focused on it when the woman under the WWE legend’s contract is waiting for one match.
She then targeted the popular wrestlers on the roster to explain her point. Medusa said, “We see Trish Stratus and Lita all the time. I think those girls are great. But that’s all we see. I’m not sick of them. I’m just sick of seeing just them. I have high respect for those two women. But damn it, if it was them at 60, they would be pounding the pavement just as hard as I am.”
It felt like the veteran was filled with anguish that came out in the form of harsh criticism of WWE. However, it will now be interesting to see if her bold statements make any difference to the working process of the company. And in case they take her words into consideration, her second wish is also ready.
Madusa chose a contender for her retirement match
Madusa has already chosen her opponent for the last match of her career in WWE. Not only did she choose her, but even reciprocated her thoughts to the female wrestler. It is no one else but the 2023 Women’s Royal Rumble Winner, Rhea Ripley, with whom the Helen of the Monday Wars wants to compete in order to make her retirement match a memorable one.
