Tonight at Fastlane, Cody Rhodes, alongside his partner Jey Uso, was able to secure their first victory together. Even though The American Nightmare has had faith in the younger Uso twin ever since he brought him to RAW, tonight’s partnership has enhanced his trust.

Following their match, Cody Rhodes took to Twitter in order to show appreciation for his partner. Since their feud with Judgment Day had been going on for a long time, fans weren’t sure whether Uso was someone who could be counted upon, and neither did anyone from the locker room. However, Jey proved everyone wrong by changing himself for the better. And now, Rhodes had something wholesome to say about him.

After defeating Damian Priest and Finn Balor, the duo secured the Undisputed Tag Team Championship. More than the title win, it was a display of Rhodes’ faith in Jey Uso. When the whole Monday Night Raw locker room was unacceptable of the inclusion of a ‘Bloodline’ member, Rhodes was there to vouch for him.

Following their Fastlane victory, Rhodes took to Twitter and wrote, “Uce“, sending a message to the former Bloodline member.

Now that their partnership paid off, Rhodes couldn’t help but write this affectionate message for his friend. Since the word ‘Uce’ means ‘brother’ in the Samoan language, this tweet can be seen as a gift to ‘Main Event’ Jey Uso for being a supportive partner in the match.

Cody Rhodes’ respect for Jey Uso doesn’t come only from their victory together. Instead, The American Nightmare has once before projected what he thinks of the former Bloodline member.

In his documentary American Nightmare: Becoming Cody Rhodes, the 38-year-old wrestler also talked about the ups and downs of his life. His WrestleMania 39 loss was also on the list. While talking about future prospects of defeating Roman Reigns, Rhodes also considered the possibility of Jey Uso defeating his own cousin.

While, as a big star himself, the wrestler could’ve neglected his competitors’ potential, Rhodes refused to do so. The former AEW EVP. Although Uso went on to lose his SummerSlam match against The Tribal Chief, Rhodes had already mentioned that he wouldn’t be jealous even if the Samoan wrestler was able to pin down the head of his family.
